An Amstel amplified party rocked Braamfontein with two and a half storeys of pure sound.
We were invited to attend the Amstel Amplified event that took place at the end of April in Braamfontein and didn’t know what to expect. The whole idea of the event was that Amstel created an app that would link to your mobile device and play a selected track that you chose using their app and then it would play it for the entire crowd.
Now that is an excellent concept because plenty of times I’ve gone out to events and thought to myself that the music on my phone is better than what is currently playing. Well Amstel did just that and allowed it’s attendees to select the music for the day, and boy it sure was a great day, with great tunes and awesome people.
Below is more info regarding the event:
2016 has seen Amstel amplify the local music scene like never before. Their #AmstelAmplified campaign has taken SA music lovers’ experiences to the next level – Amstel shook up Braamfontein with a two and a half storey high speaker stack.
The event took place at Neighbourgoods Market, the social hub of bustling Braamfontein, where the crowd could control the music at the #AmstelAmplified giant speaker installation by plugging in their personal devices and playing their favourite tracks. This set the tone for the coolest impromptu rooftop party that drew some of the biggest names in the SA cultural and music scene – Andrew Berry, Keneilwe Mothoa, Shelley Mokoena, Iman Mkanazi, Siyabonga Sibeko, Frypan Mfula, The Fuss, DJ Sabby, Maps, Miss Kay and many more all had their chance to plug in their devices and amp up the party. Quality times served by a quality beer.
