What Perplexity says about the alpha lipoic acid –> 19:52
Based on the search results, here’s what we know about alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) and its potential use for COVID-19:
ALA has shown promise as a potential adjuvant therapy for COVID-19 patients due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Some key points about ALA and COVID-19 include:
Potential Mechanisms
ALA may help reduce oxidative stress and protect the vascular endothelium.
It could potentially diminish cellular entry of SARS-CoV-2 by modulating the disulfide-thiol balance involved in virus-cell interactions.
ALA has anti-inflammatory effects that may help counter the cytokine storm associated with severe COVID-19.
Clinical Evidence
One study showed that 61% of patients with post-viral smell loss (not specifically COVID-19) had improved olfactory function using 600 mg/day of ALA.
However, a randomized controlled trial specifically looking at post-COVID-19 smell loss found no significant benefit of adding ALA (600 mg daily) to olfactory training compared to olfactory training alone over 12 weeks.
Other Considerations
ALA is often used in combination with other antioxidants like glutathione precursors (e.g. N-acetylcysteine) in proposed COVID-19 treatment protocols.
The typical supplemental dose studied is around 600 mg per day.
While ALA shows theoretical promise for COVID-19 based on its known properties, current clinical evidence for its efficacy specifically for COVID-19 symptoms like smell loss is limited and mixed.
More research is needed to determine if ALA provides meaningful benefits for COVID-19 patients beyond standard treatments and supportive care.

Caucasian Shepherd I think is the dog breed
“Didn’t all dogs come from wolves?”
“Yeah, but some have more mastiff than wolf.”
“Yeah, but didn’t all dogs come from wolves?”
Hahaha, without some math to make me understand, I’m in Joe’s corner here.

Still no Alex Jones. Crazy.
Hmmm… MDNA and Canola Oil…yeah….NO!
been listening to this one just for information and seeing whats up in the world, but the last like 30/40 minutes were the most potent to me, as an independent music producer still not known very much in the underground. the “Who are -You-?” / “just be yourself” bit really hit. I’ve heard it many times over the years, in many different ways and the same way, but hearing it here has struck a well. probably would make some great clips too
XAI800T licked my taint. Thanks XAI800T!
Science, especially when invoking experiment – is not a field, but a method, resulting with an empirical outcome
I’m so happy to see Huberman’s name pop on here again. If you haven’t watched the previous 4 podcasts he was on here you all should. I’ve never for any JRE episode took out a notebook and took so many notes on things he shared and was discussed and I follow Huberman’s regimens in life from the moment I wake up till I go to sleep and have to say my life and health has completely changed since the first time he’s been on here. Big fan and big respect to a man giving such important information on the body, mind and life out to us for free
Huberman, Lex, and Joe: Any time they have an episode together in any combination, you know it’s going to be legendary! Love these guys!

I love Huberman is learning to follow Christ! 🙏👏💪
Love Andrew! Man bro’s always got the interesting facts and stats Iv usually never heard before that tend to usually partain to real life and self improving as well. The dog discussion was super interesting. Its crazy to see the differences in the breeds, purposes and behavior and the correllation of the original wolf dna level within the various breeds. I had no idea about the differences between the snout lengths, sight / smell hounds etc. The Sam Sheridan dog fighting in the phillipenes reference about the parrallels of dog fighting and boxing fatalities both correlating closely to the relationship to whom they were fighting for is one of those facts/stats that isnt very surprising at all.. I think fundamentaly this concept goes further than just the boxers fighting harder for a parent cornerman they dont want to dissapoint, or dogs fighting to the death if the owner/dog relationship was strong/loving, its even why a hunters heart will skip a beat if you encounter a grizzley in the wild with cubs, why the last thing you want is a fight with a man protecting his wife or children, siblings protecting siblings, etc. But particularly with fighters & dogs that will throw out the option of “tapping” if the reason for combat is protecting a beloved owner or loved one..
The scent and scense of smell convo was really interesting, had no idea we could detect scent at a rate so much higher than we thought with so many more receptors, the chocolate under the ground experiement was crazy Id almost have to see that one to believe it but I dont doubt it considering how leaning on our dominate scenses can make us blind to our others, another one of those facts I was unaware of. None of which is very surprising, even beyond scents & smell I think our algorhythms are better than we think at picking up unusual patterns from the environment, outlying data, anomolies etc. For hunting dogs with a good nose this makes a good tracker, for humans I think it helps sifting through the bs, and finding the smoke that often leads to or indicates a fire.
Definatly hit it on the nail with the psychology of people and bs detection, personality types, people types that will ruin your life etc. Knowing whether or not your letting your guard down with people due to them filling a particular void/ childhood attachments you may or may not be aware of. Im of the mindset that its not all that difficult amungst your male friends, IF you require them to live by a basic code, like no matter how cool we are if you lie & steal from me, dont keep your word or have no principles with me or your other friends than its pretty obvious you cant be trusted, no matter how cool you are or go back, you just cant start making exceptions, they represent you whether you want them to or not so you just cant be cool with the bs. One reason I feel friendships absolutely must graduate through the test of time, a few years atleast to put people through various situations, Iv had homies that were 97% solid just cant trust them with money, or jealousy, etc. no way to know without the test of time. Women on the other hand, your learn tells and flags over time and experiences but no matter what , for most men if your gonna get got thats the most likely area, feelings will up the blinders, your gut gets better but most of us wont ever get perfect there.
Rick being quoted saying the key to being great at something is just being “you” it does sound mystical & like a generic quote but true. Talking about punk rock and early hip hop music being pure and the energy of new niches, genres or just people making true art not thinking about making money or looking cool is when its at its purest most genuine form, its why your hipsters are so proud to know about those few bands that have every drop of talent if not more than any mainstream talent but have nothing more than a small niche cult following only beknown to the “cool kids”. Theres something beautiful about being a nobody, unknown, unappreciated etc. theres a feeling of freedom that comes with it, a feeling of having absolutely nothing to lose regardless of if its true or not. It gives confidence to take risks as long as those risks are rooted in authenticity can you really lose? I think you can start to realize someone out there knows exactly how you feel or has experienced exactly what your speaking about or at the very least may come across it one day and resinate with something you shared and left that may have been embarassing or vulnerable. Podcasting is 100% in this same predicament now definatly, youve got 100% real no bs conversation pods like JRE, Andrews, Lex’s and so many more, that people love because they know no matter what the next 2-3 hours is about to be real as it gets, no angle no bs, no fluff etc. etc. then youve got the heavily produced tv style, over the top angles and entertainment fluff filled pods that people end up getting bored of without drama, and in my opinion just dont last the test of time. Youtube really is one of those last stands for authentic conversations, just hope it stays that way.
Talking about not everyone liking fame was so true too, personally I think theres two types of people, people that really want to be known by everyone and people that consider it a dream come true to be known by any of the people, artists, professionals, idols that they themselves admired and looked up to for years. Theres no shame in either, and personality types I think have allot to do with it, and Id have to add a third category which is people that dont give a f #ck either way and just want to be left alone and make art like that bexy guy drawin million dollar paintings on random buildings. In my opinion if you could get by with only being known to some of the people you admire and still make even a decent/modest living then you hit the lotto, thats if your an actual fan of whatever artform and consider it a priviledge to contribute to it or be adjacent to it in anyway imo..
Fact check this guy.
the dogs were all made for a job. Dalmatians have occasional deafness, make good fire truck dogs.

1:20:58 “I was very secretive about this whole dick operation. Even I thought I was ****ing crazy. Imagine what everyone else would think? So I would stash all my dick drawings in this Ghostbusters lunchbox that I had. So one day, I’m finishing up this real big, veiny, triumphant *******, all of a sudden…
He finds this Ghostbusters lunchbox dick treasure chest and he ****ing flips out. He calls in my parents. Turns out this principal is a religious fanatic, and he thinks I’m possessed by some sort of dick devil. My parents go make me see some therapist, and he’s asking me all these dick questions. They literally stopped me from eating foods that were shaped like dicks. No hot dogs, no popsicles… You know how many foods are shaped like dicks? The best kinds.”
