JMSC Mayor Visit-6

The Executive Mayor Patricia de Lille visited The Pumphouse, Cape Town’s only dedicated comedy club, Jou Ma Se Comedy Club during the final preparations for the clubs opening on the 1st November.

The team have been working tirelessly for the past few months transforming this historical landmark into a sophistaced venue which will host the top comics and show case the best South African and International talent throughout the year. In addition to this world class entertainment, patrons can enjoy great food, relax, laugh and just have fun in a safe, upmarket environment.

The Pumphouse dates back to 1882 and is situated in Dock Road at the V&A Waterfront. It is used to pump water from the Robinson Dry Dock (the world’s oldest working dry dock) and is also the building where the first dynamo was installed to help illuminate Table Bay Harbour, 10 years before the rest of Cape Town.

Jou Me Se Comedy Club is excited to announce the acquisition of Sue-Ann Allen, celebrity chef to the JMSCC family. Kurt Schoonraad’ owner of the club had this to say…..” I can’t wait to eat the food! “Sue-Anne’s vision for the food menu at the Club is to keep it simple and uncomplicated. Her focus will be on using fresh seasonal produce and producing great food with all of the focus on flavour.  “We’ll be serving tapas, gourmet salads, pizzas and then some traditional like steak and fries on standard evenings, but the menu can change to suit events or corporate gigs – anything is possible so menus can be created to suit the occasion”. “I am looking forward to getting creative in my new kitchen and cooking for you soon” says Sue-Ann”

The Waterfront has broad appeal and JMSCC gives local and international visitors an additional reason to experience the V&A by night in a safe environment.
