Drones have created next level PTSD.. Once weaponized they should be a war crime. A vet and his son enjoying a day in the park when a hobbyist drone flys by and the vet deletes everyone in the park including his son.
I dont know how many of you know about the quad propeller drone speed world record but these the second one on here looks exactly like it. The speed was 408mph

That was like in 1958 with Project A119. The USAF were going to detonate a nuke on the moon to “boost morale amongst Americans” along with other reasons and to also stick it to the USSR. I also read years ago, it was an important anniversary date for the Oktober Revolution coming up in 1959 and USA were trying to beat those darn commies who either had intel the commies were planning on doing this or something along those lines of blowing a nuke up on the moon. Thank bloody god cooler and smarter heads prevailed in that situation. I used to ask my Dad whilst he was still alive, a lot of questions about what it was like being alive and an adult during the early years of the cold war. He was much older than most Dads when I was born so I had this cool walking talking encyclopaedia as my old man 😊

Sometimes you need an equivalent number of defenses.
But, that’s not always the case.
A sort of radio wage pulse or something to that effect that can disable a swarm of drones.
With rockets and missiles, you likely do need enough interceptors. But, you may be able to alter their guidance systems in flight and send them off course to land some here completely harmless.

I agree the full big picture, different lines of defence and offence. Drowns, Laser, missiles , planes, etc. Sensor arrays, motion arrays, radar arrays, camera arrays … Each line being specific solution goals, cross controlled and AI handoff on miss, success, numbers etc.

The reality is that what the US needs for defense is lasers surrounding the country, at least two layers, with a readily available power source.
Even a million of those cheap, useless things like cars can be destroyed, balloons, lasers can hit them from any height.
If not from the ground, it’s difficult, maybe with AI, but from an airplane.
