When I got married in 1992, one of my groomsmen was a former Six guy who’d blown a knee and had to move into the training cadre. He never said that much about his deployments but, when he did, he sounded just like this. He could have been talking about a scratch game of beach football. Just matter of fact – like the crazy shit he had to do was no big deal.
