In the magnitude Elon wants to do it, it will cost hundreds of billions of dollars.
Elon has the money and he can pay people to plan and execute this TeraFab for him, while posing as “genius” or the “demi god” he likes to portray himself.
We’ve needed this for years! We gotta have a backup plan for when Taiwan is taken over!
Elon just needs to pay all those top people at tsmc to come and do it for him he can afford it he could probably afford to build 100 fabs and not even notice his bank account change
Those chips made in Taiwan were Americans chips that we gave to the and South Korea 😂. Wow once you do a little bit of reading you come to know 90% of people on podcasts really just talk out their ass

US will never control Taiwan and now that they pissed off South Korea, they will never be a player in chip manufacturing.

Its the physicality of Asians make them the best professionals compared to Others. I mean who are the best lumberjacks? Canadians or Americans? Because they actually use wood for structural engineering

We have chips in stuff that is stupid. Just open the door with a handle. A fridge doesn’t need chips or your washer, dryer or vehicle. We wonder why everything is expensive and built poorly.

I would recommend for Taiwan or any country to not become partners with the USA, its a horrible experience! The Netherlands was a epic well minded country, till we got involved with the US! The interesting part is that he says he is going to do it without a clean room. That tells me they have come up with a completely different way to make chips other than lithography. Underwater maybe, or probably launching chip making satellites and doing it in space.
the us holds a monopoly on the high purity quartz used to make semi conductors. 90+ percent comes from one mine in North Carolina.Synthetic quartz pure enough in any quantity is a long way off and find another mine that pure and that amount is probably a long way off as well. Maybe I’m retarded but that would seem like a fair amount of leverage at least until other sources are developed.
