Even though we only had 37 years together before she passed I believe that I’m the most fortunate man on the planet.
We were married too young and we had our first child within a year but I remember clearly something My Girl said at some point five years or so into our marriage as she was trying to catch her breath; ‘We’re getting pretty good at this.’
I remember hearing others talk about how seldom they had sex or how perfunctory it had became but through two children, breast cancer, and right up to the brain cancer that eventually took her, other than when I had to travel for work we were still acting like teenagers who couldn’t get enough.
