Beautiful. This is going to be a great interview.
That 30 years had passed since something had happened in his parents apologize for it I think as a parent we can all understand that. Parents are people we make mistakes. Everything he’s talking about or things we should be conscious about.
As he said we would trade EVERYTHING if we got 5 more minutes with someone we love.
Yet many of us forget everyday and we get angry about things that do not matter. Or things that matter but should never control our mood or change our behavior.
This brought tears to my eyes.
I disagree, TRUMP is the worst

One day I was half joking with my mother about something that happened when I was a teenager.
She didn’t think it was funny. She didn’t laugh. She actually got teary-eyed which upset me because that was not what I was trying to accomplish. She apologized and it has been 30 years. In her apology though she reminded me that she’s just a person. Yes she’s a parent but parents make mistakes. She did the best she could and especially with a daughter who thought they knew everything. That there was many things she regretted doing as a parent and reminded me that there will be a day 30 years from now when my daughter does the same to me and it will hurt my heart the same way because she is still upset about what I did to her 30 years down the road.
We all make mistakes. Everyone.
While I firmly believe in these concepts, and agree with most of it, there’s an exception: Life or death threats. Its not revenge to address a legitimate threat to safety. Our corrupt gaslighting media & governments have become that threat with open borders, and 2-tier justice. With collectivist dangerous ideology taking over a person’s rights. With manufactured “crises” used to justify more state control. I think discernment is always required, and resorting to violence or emotional outbursts aint it….but we must act.
I wish this interview was a couple years ago before Ryan went political and nuts and started just grifting off of his audience. He used to be such a good influence in the world.
Very excited for this one, I’ve been following the Daily Stoic for quite a while now. Despite his wisdom, I get the feeling that I don’t agree with Ryan’s politics- we’ll see how much of that you guys get into.

i figure if Jesus can forgive a wretched sinner like me and would willingly sacrifice himself for someone like me. regardless of how good i think i am you can’t measure up to that kind of Grace. I can for give someone who does me dirty and do it with a full and complete heart. heck a little pain and suffering builds resilience and character.

This dude Holiday has zero credibility, ZERO… his whole shtick was how the media manipulates people and then his brain is broken by CNN and mainstream news over Trump to the point he decides to write a letter to his Dad (but make it public) to beg him not to vote for Trump. Man to man “stoic” conversation… naw… a desperate attempt to be included in the fake news he wrote a book about… odd decision. The book is titled “Trust me, I’m lying”… now he’s a stoic 🙄

If you’re not upset about things that are upsetting in your life then you’re a sociopath!! It’s okay to be upset and have some anxiety about the way the world is, especially right now with the media being subverted causing global panic,multiple Wars going on simultaneously!! If you’re not upset right now then you’re delusional!! Direct your energy to fixing the problem instead of just complaining about it!!
I believe evil has reached critical mass in our world.
I got vengeance on my violent thug of a father who hurt me a lot growing up so much I hated him and wanted to make him pay for it for years and my mother was an instigator of problems and conflicts in the family.. I got my own back several times on them… over the years.. they were a mess and spread their mess in the family then I walked away and left them.. felt better knowing they didn’t get away with it.. Dad died from cancer and Mam died from a stroke and lost mobility in her right side… and I didn’t care.. I just moved on… God got justice. They deserved everything coming to them.. I’ll never visit the grave 🪦 thanks for sharing 🙏 I believe what goes around comes around. No one escapes.

Today, at 67, all my attachments are being stripped away. Divorce, estrangement from my child, career ending, the works. Soon all I will have will be me. And today, I plan to be okay with that outcome because one day, hopefully not too soon, life too will be stripped away, so I might as well be content in the interim.

My childhood was taken from me and turned me into a messed up man. Its hard to believe in Jesus and god. I’m not able to be the man I should be because of something that took less them 10 minutes during my childhood. Not sure why I can’t get it out of my head. I’m 44. It happen when I was 9. Its hard to move on it really is.
