Im a Canadian. 44. Ive never met a single person in Canada in foster care in my whole life. Americans hate raising their own kids eh?
That “math” doesn’t make sense
I was in foster care until I was 19. I graduated with a 3.4 gpa. Had 2 scholarships one to a tech school and one to a community college. I went through hell but i live on my own, have a great job, never been to jail, in therapy, go to church when I’m not working, have a car, the list goes on. By the Grace of God I’m ok. But i went through so much crap. I no longer talk to any families because they’re were in it for the money and were abusive and should be in jail. I forgiven them but want nothing to do with them. And I have a great relationship with my birth mother and my birth father passed 6 1/2 months ago but we had a great relationship too.
Think that in Sweden not a goal to have foster children adopted. The goals liks to getting them home to the biological parents.. I’ve never never iven almost never seen them in thers iven as babies
She is speaking the truth! I was never in Foster care, I saw the issue of these kids when they age out. I tried to start a program for this by purchasing an apartment complex but there was no one who cared enough to help. It’s really sad!
Because it’s the people fostering are doing it just for the money not because they love kids and then they adopt the kids and now our government gives them money for that too. Y’all better open your eyes it’s people on government money socialism is what this country is moving into everybody reliant on the government.

This is crazy to me. My sister’s best friend was “adopted” into the family when she was 14 and my parents became foster parents at the same time she was put into the syster. Its a long story but here in Missouri they offered her free college and helped her get a car by matching whatever money our family put into it and they gave her a $500 yearly clothing allowance.
I was in an orphanage! I graduated high-school. I was pregnant at 19 and had my son at 20. I graduated college at 40.

This is why Pro life is such a fail. This is how it has been already, imagine how many more people will struggle and suffer as they grow, simply due to lack of provision.
I’m not saying they don’t deserve to live, they deserve to have a reasonable quality of life, a decent standard, opportunities. Whilst some may make it, despite the odds against them, too many will not.
The bill should never have been passed without addressing this provision deficiency.
Brexit was the same, in UK. Too many people voted for it without understanding how much it would affect everyday people, in many ways. They didn’t plan to handle it, they had years and they still failed. Wealthy folk could ride the storm in a nicely built ship, barely noticing it. Everyone else is in a canoe.
Truth. I was a foster child
As a state kid, like the ones shes speaking about who never have a permanent placement, foster care is EVIL.
This is the reality of putting a baby up for adoption.
Forgotten angels is a great charity based in florida helping these young man and women who age out of the foster care system become productive contributing members of society.

There is absolutely no reason for foster care to be in such a disastrous situation. It’s quite simply bureaucracy that allows that.

These stats are heart breaking. And people still walk around saying, Life is easy just go get a job.
And no dad broken home abused to death end up living in a van at Walmart with a service dog and PTSD ..maybe next time.
Reminder that sex education and access to contraception are to very easy ways to help bring down the numbers. Two things that are always seemingly up for bans or restrictions in the states where the system is failing the worst. Gotta love a system that works as intended.

This is beyond sad & yet another unacceptable practice that has become normal but only because we don’t know or care to know or some don’t care if they do know. Not only did the parents fail them but society did too. Sad & wrong.

I was a ward of state from kindergarten until I aged out. I have 100 different horror stories and am 34 and still in therapy from it.
Our nation has a problem with protecting children
I am the child of an aged out child (1966). This is a problem we’ve been approaching in a punitive way for far, far, far too long. She did better than her mother – but that’s saying very little. She did a lot of damage to her three children. It’s not going to get better until we start seeing children – any children, all children, everyone’s children – as an investment for everyone’s future and not other people’s property.

And as a society we are supposed to take care of the orphans and widows. So much for that.
As someone who was in the system since age 8, this is why im pro choice. Regular people cant afford children, and the government doesn’t want to help, so why keep adding to the problem?

Well that just tells me that the system is not doing anything to help these kids at all. So what are you people doing obviously nothing obviously you’re allowing these kids to become juveniles and then allowing them to become criminals in life and not show them anything apparently

Ya i aged out at 16 had a drug problem big one died came back stopped doing all now just lice life
Then stop funding the theft of kids shut down HHS. These are two easy solutions to this problem and many of the other problems the woman talks about.
Pseo….county reimburses young adult a dollar amount each month up to 25 years old if they enroll in post secondary school.
So sad they’d rather police women about what to do with the clump of cells in their uterus vs caring for the lives that are already here
