In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
I’m interested to know those “scientific discoveries” that proved that the universe had to have a beginning.
The book of Genesis says it all. God is great and good ✝️
so the cause is immaterial, timeless, powerful, and caring? sounds familiar
so basically everything has to have a cause? even the multiverse? wild. 🤯
Here’s an idea! We have no idea what happened! There is nothing that can be posited where we know nothing! YOU CANT JUST PRESCRIBE A GOD BECAUSE IT CANT BE EXPLAINED! Here is the edit we only inhabit a fraction of this earth out of spite alone if it was so perfect we could literally exist exclusively in the ocean which covers a vast majority of this planet.

I mean if you follow physics and string theory you’ll come to the point that observing something changes the outcome and eventually you hit the question of how stuff happens where there is no sentient entity watching it which then comes to the notion that for string theory to work there has to be an omniscient observer to the universe

Too many people are uncomfortable with saying “I don’t know”. Just because science has not found what happened in the beginning does not automatically prove God’s existence.

In our hindu texts, there are mentions about brahman, the ultimate reality, the aatman, the concious reality, and the sansara, the physical reality. Texts say that polythestic goda we have are bound to this physical world, and the ultimate goal of our souls is to realise brahman and go there. Our texta also said about multiverse and universe started from a point and will collapse into a point, similar to big bang and big crunch in modern day science
I don’t think everyone is understandding the logic of his argument.
The evidence demonstrates the universe had a beginning, everything that begins must have a cause logically. We know the universe consists of material, space, and time. Therefore whatever came before it must be distinct from these elements since they had not been created.
So, based on the evidence and logic, something created the universe that is timeless, space less, and immaterial. Further, the universe is vast and contains great power so it must be powerful, the universe operates with rules (laws of physics etc.) so it must be logical, the universe is intricate, detailed, and contains great variety so it must be creative and intelligent. Finally, the state before the universe is seemingly nothing, a state of nothing existing is stable, so to go from nothing to the creation of the universe requires a decision.
A timeless, space less, immaterial, intelligent, creative, powerful, logical, decision maker created the universe based on scientific evidence and logical extrapolation. This is a literal description of God

The old God of the gaps fallacy is as old as time itself. The universe doesn’t need a creator to exist, what if the universe is in a constant cycle of creation and destruction? One feeding the other for eternity.
Where does such confidence in science come from? Science is same as religion, you believe it or not, in fact we know nothing about science, we don’t know simple things such as what’s time, what’s gravity, the whole maths wasn’t discovered, it was agreed on. We only see the effects, same as is my religion for me, i see its effects, therefore i believe

Another scientifically illiterate Christian, who doesn’t understand science. The BGV theorem, simply states this current expansion had a beginning, Borde Guth and vilenkin are all atheists scientists and have been quoted as saying, this does not prove an external creator.

here’s one thing that would’ve captured 100% of my attention to the point I shake my head back to reality as I realize I’ve watched this 10x in a row…that one thing, that the screen was stilled not mirroring his every movement. No. As someone who wholeheartedly believes in God, science itself will never PROVE it, because all science is is our best guess at the moment with the information at hand… and that’s ALWAYS evolving. While God is unchanging, there will always be more to learn, and the “proofs” will continue to change & evolve.
What terrifies me is that god is real, he did come before the universe and he did create everything we know and dont know.
But what if our interpretation of “god” is just that. Our interpretation. What if god isnt benevolent. What if god doesnt even recognize us or even care?
God created us? This insignificant spec in an infinite ocean of space and we choose to believe god cares at all about our salvation or damnation because a book someone wrote and said was ” the inspired word” of god said so?
