What he is leaving out for many who don’t understand, is that you used to pump your gas first, and then pay afterwards. You were expected to not then drop a $100, as any register only could have $50 in it to not be robbed. All gas stations eventually needed to start putting up signs at registers that no bills larger than $20 accepted.
He pumped gas, used a far too large bill to pay for it trying to worm out of paying with the old “Oh, all I have is a hundred, can I just keep the gas for free?” The guy held on to $100 and promised to give it back when he paid with correct amount of money.
They came back to threaten the man to giving back their money and letting them just steal the gas, and brought violent threatening muscle to do it. $5 for the gas they pumped was all that was needed. No chance in this scenario did the brother not threaten him violence.
This dudes story radically changed from “heard multiple shots going off” to “shot once clearly aiming below the chest.”
Ah yes, the guy who got a black man out of jail because of racism only for the black man to cut his neighbors head off.
The real question is did the jail system turn a falsely accused into a person who can dismember and murder🎉

A district attorney in Utah named Scott Peterson threatened my dad into a plea bargain in the mid to late 90’s and sent him to a maximum security prison for an “Evaluation” that most people fail and get stuck there. Evidence didn’t need to exist. The accuser had been locked up for falsely accusing someone just a year earlier. There were witnesses of that one who said it was made up. Back then, if you were in Peterson’s sights, weren’t Mormon, was poor, you were going to jail. Peterson to my knowledge, went to the same church and golfed with the judge. My Dad’s lawyer just told him there was only one path and that was a plea bargain. Option B was plead not guilty and have the potential 40 year sentence with roughly a 50/50 chance of winning. But that was if we had the money. I was actually there when the the incidences allegedly happened. Lots of people were. The court documents of what happened had all the situations containing just two people, my Dad and the accusing party. Timelines didn’t make sense. I was never questioned. There was no evidence provided.
I think what sealed our family’s fate was when the police and mr. Peterson showed up for the first time, my dad got pissed and told mr. Peterson how he felt about it and told him he had nothing and to f off… Peterson told him that the only thing that mattered was that he was going down. Never challenge them like that. He mouthed off and my family has never recovered. If you think they can’t touch you because there’s no evidence, they don’t need it. If things don’t add up, it doesn’t need too. My dad wasn’t a great guy, but he wasn’t what they said he was. We will continue to pay for generations. As soon as contact was made with the police, our name was in the paper. Our family business was done. Our community standing was forever tarnished. We had to move to another state.
Yes, he was accused of a sex crime. He has that status until his death. Which could happen at the hands of a vigilante with no questions asked. He has to go his neighbor’s houses and tell them what he was convicted of in the 90’s or face serious consequences. I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do if I have to move in with me so I can care for him.
Even now, writing this. I feel like people are going to say that I’m obviously going to defend him or be in denial. Sometimes I hear people talking about how they should kill SO’s or do the most horrible things to them. People don’t realize the legal system can be weaponized like that. Just think about how easy it is to get rid of an adversary if this kind of scenario can play out so easily.
