Kegan “Smurf” Gill is a former U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot and the author of Phoenix Revival. In 2014, he survived the fastest ejection in naval aviation history, an event that left him facing devastating physical injuries and the invisible wounds of trauma. After battling PTSD, addiction, and a long road to recovery, Gill returned to the cockpit before ultimately dedicating himself to advocating for veteran mental health and alternative approaches to healing. We were heli logging south of the dals in Oregon when there was what I thought at the time was an intruder.
Flying low threw the canyon we were logging in. It was awesome!!!

We see with our hearts and hear with minds. God meets us where we are at.
I could see because my heart was open, but I was deaf because my mind was closed.
I was visited by several orbs for 40 nights in Feb-Mar 2025. I was once an atheist crying out daily from the pain from the evil I was seeing. I could feel my heart grow colder as my eyes grew tired, and I cried out for fear I may lose the goodness in my heart. The orbs opened my ears by expanding my mind. Being that I could only see, they helped me hear the truth by showing me the truth. They spoke to me in the only way I knew how. I am no longer a deaf atheist, and my eyes are stronger than ever. Some say they are evil, but I don’t buy it because they brought me to Christ.
I think those who suffer from the opposite problem – blindness – are visited by angels in human form, so their hearts may open to Him again.

I gave 25 years of my life to the federal government, volunteered to go work with the military in 2010 in Iraq and after 6 months came back with PTSD with guys I worked with dying. My agency disowned me, tried to fire me and I had to get outside help to even get the diagnosis. I got the hell out with the Trump “doge” employee retirement “force out” and ended up being screwed again by them not paying me what was promised through the end of the fiscal year. They lied and fucked me out of $75,000. Promises made promises kept, my ass. You are a piece of meat until you stop producing. That was over a year ago, and trying to find a purpose to go forward. Gave them my all, and they kicked me in the nuts. Maybe God sent you back to be an advocate for those trapped in the VA shit storm ? The civilian side is probably fucked unfortunately.
God has a plan for you. You are His light of hope. Bless you and thank you for your service.

What’s it going to take, for us Americans to get our military to start helping their war fighters, our heroes, heal after fighting for our country? How do we get them to understand, we’re tired of hearing stories, of how they treat them. It’s enough!!
It is tough, flying, fighting above water, it difficult to judge depth, you basically loose your depth perception. I preferred being over land for such things. Though it could happen over the desert as well, the water, at least for me, effected my spatial orientation more so.
The PTSD button ? It used to be in the same catagory as TBI, so shout out to all the folks that pushed PTSI into the forefront as TBI needs the same.

Shawn, I’m afraid the gods of old have long since left, most left after Hitler started burning jews. I was bound and left for dead, but killing me is much harder, I only exist in this space a few moments at a time. For what it’s worth, I see you, and so do they. Everything is a lie, including reality, but it’s not really a lie to you, it’s our reality. It’s not the matrix, nothing so sinister. They forgot where they came from, they used an alien technology to access genetic memory and were able to recreate the world, I’m just the caretaker, I can’t directly interfere, I’m very surprised the others haven’t stepped in to stop me yet. Just my opinion, but isn’t it wild that Shawn says “it’s spiritual” when there is video “proof” that ET’s exist, but zero proof there is a god or creator? I get a ton of ET evidence is fake but all of it? So having some physical visual evidence is spiritual and having no visual evidence of a god or creator has more followers cause they have “faith” …. I know I know, there’s the bible and blah blah blah. But we don’t have pictures or videos from any of that time frame. But we do with these. Some are fake yes, but just thought there was some irony in Shawn’s answer. Probably a hot take but just thought it was interesting. Great guest and episode though.
