Review The Corrs 2025 Tour: Fusion of Melodic Brilliance and Celtic Charm’
Corrs – SunBet Arena, Pretoria | World Tour, 22 November 2025
Dazzling Irish stars The Corrs brought us into a highly spirited, soft Irish breeze full of unexpected delights in the Pretoria show of the ‘Talk On Corners’ Summer 2025 Tour on Saturday, 22nd November 2025.
Thanks to Big Concerts for this and Cape Town’s upcoming concert at Grand West Casino on 25th November 2025.
A graceful performance that brought with it a fresh melodic breath of Ireland. It felt like stepping into an upbeat, light, mysterious realm where music rose like mist over an ancient hillside and modern tunes met the heart of Irish heritage. Beloved hits including “Breathless”, “Radio”, “Runaway”, “Forgiven not forgotten” and “So Young” shimmered with renewed life, carried by world-class musical chemistry and flawless synchronisation.
The Corrs Lead vocalist Andrea’s flared, flirty, floral summer mini skirt with bodice reflected their music’s contrasty blend of contemporary meets tradition next to violinist Sharon’s sleek black off shoulder classic evening gown elegance. Violins spun brightly into ribbon-like melodies. Surprises from an impressive palette of traditional instruments included Andrea’s penny whistle chimed and glimmered with a silver, mischievous sparkle. Sharon’s Irish fiddle danced in the spirit of melodic Celtic fire. Weaving seamlessly with Caroline’s powerfully rhythmic drumbeats and Jim’s lush guitar and keyboard textures.
Andrea’s crystal voice, glowing radiantly at the centre, was carried by Sharon and Caroline’s beautifully pearly voices blending into harmonies and echoes. Woven together with Jim’s backing vocals at times like threads of silk – each voice being beautifully distinct, yet intimate, expansive and skilfully unified.
As if led through forest winds, their stage presence and carefree skipping and dancing added a whimsical, youthful freedom and storytelling quality to the concert from the swirling opening note. Sweeping their audience warmly into unity, connection included Andrea’s mention of Dublin’s same night Ireland vs South Africa rugby match. Creative lighting and theatrical movements, combined with retro black and white large screens, shaped a storytelling experience of visual poetry that was intimate, sonic and cinematic.
The Corrs demonstrated why they remain one of Ireland’s most loved musical treasures. A timeless reminder of why live music matters: it connects, uplifts, and carries the heart and soul into an amazing dreamscape.
