😂 DEPENDS. My grandfather taught SERE in Panama. JUNGLE, not so cool. Only photo we have he was there is a picture of him & 4 other guys holding parts of a massive snake bigger than the Polaroid frame and machetes hanging on their belts with hack marks all down it. I asked him about it & was told he had that photo to teach recruits fire discipline 🤣 man was a savage

We do all those things in wv here. You don’t have to do training for that experience. lol 😂
He felt that way because that’s what human men are supposed to be doing on a daily basis. Instead we are wage slaves on a pdf file owned plantation.
The craziest charter I’ve ever done was during a tropical storm with six marine officers that were going to SERE. We meant to stay behind sw pass but there is no line of demarcation and all of a sudden we were in it. Couldn’t go into the see so just beam sea when got into protected water and just stopped. Complete silence no one said a word. We sat there for I don’t know how long and then went home. I still think about trip all the time I know SERE is tough but we faced the wrath of the ocean that day. Death

I was an instructor at McCall, Rucker and Rangeley and there is never any single instance where we have students “hunt” game for survival.
Not raining on a good story, but this is a silly urban legend that never seems to die.
