Keep your kids off net
I think when I have a kid I’m just gonna try to keep them away from all online games and messaging platforms unless I can out parental controls and monitor it
I’ve seen people say “Oh but my kid loves it so much”……and? You’re failing as a parent if you’re are knowingly letting them use an app with ped0s on it🤷♀️that’s just the truth
Yeah, Snapchat pred catcher here: Snapchat is a very unsafe app, you can friend random people that can “claim to have mutual friends” so they can get in contact with kids and talk with them ON TOP OF THAT THEY CAN SEE YOUR LOCATION ON THE APP within the app there is a “locate friends” on its built in map service where in pinpoints your friends which is viewable to everyone that you have friended. STAY OFF MESSAGING APPS THAT YOU CAN TAK TO RANDOM PEOPLE!
In addition to shleps list of apps to keep your kids of is: Instagram (messaging capabilities with random people), Reddit (Unfiltered content, NSFW content without age restrictions, and really any app that can be used to message people you don’t know.
I don’t understand why the tech companies aren’t held accountable for failing to provide safeguards. In their hedonistic quest for online dominance they’re willing to wreck our kids lives. I’m all for free markets but I also believe in accountability when it comes to the shared responsibility of protecting kids.
Keep your kid off the net.

As a parent I will never understand how parents can normalize handing a child a device without any parental supervision. Never!

I’ve never even heard of discord
I guarantee at least two of the trans shooters in theast few months were groomed on Discord.
So the kids are victimized on these apps but how and in what way? What actually happens? I don’t have kids and I don’t know what they are doing on Discord, Kik, Roblox, Snapchat. I don’t mean to sound so out of touch (derp) If someone could briefly explain I’d really appreciate it.

Download watchdog apps. Parental controls, it’s like tv from way back people. Take control morons

These opinions are just some of the dumbest takes…. Discord has age protection on channels. If used properly discord is 100% safe and fine. Yes roblox is dangerous af, and social media platforms especially Twitter.

Ya I’m on discord, I’m also an adult and the games I play and use with discord, I haven’t run into freaks, but I can see where it could be abused.
I’m grateful me and my brother only had AOL kids accounts in the early 2000s, cause this world is scary. As an adult in the modern Psychedelic scene and living in San Francisco, I’m glad my girlfriend limits her childrens digital access.
