Orrrr…. Hear me out. Educate your kids. All of mine knew to never trust people online or anything they told you about themselves. They knew about voice changers, the fact that they can send fake photos, the manipulation tactics they use, etc. they also learned that the chances of being targeted by someone like this are very low so they can still have fun talking to actual kids, but they knew to never give any private information at all. It’s the perfect opportunity to teach about being safe online. If you don’t know the info, educate yourself first. It’s important. Teach them to do things to protect their safety so they don’t have to live in fear. You can’t put up guardrails up in every single thing they might encounter, so without this info driven home every time the subject comes up they’ll be more at risk than if you just TALK TO THEM
Every normal parent wouldn’t let their child play unsupervised, and certainly not online, and besides, it’s time for children to play games outside in the fresh air and not sit at the computer.
I wont let my kids play video games anymore. Its been tough. I feel like I cursed by letting them play video games. They dont know how to play without it.

I have a very strong system and stomach, but this takes me over edge and makes me want bring up dinner i just had….. i am so disgusted by this, first i heard of this happening i directed some younger family members to stay off and away from game, but because im only an uncle – parents get last say and dont care or see it being as bad as i do, so we end up in conflict and im too much end of day, inatead of being seen as super caring and wanting them never experience this sort of thing.
Know im not alone in that, how do we get parents to actually care about this and see whats going on when kids wan their privacy and are also learning to lie to get their way and continue doing this behind parents backs?!?!?!?
So much wrong with this world, but this hurts me more as said i get looked at being the crazy one for suggesting something like boycotting game and not allowing kids to play it ever again.
So fucking sad makes me cry tears of shame as i cant get poinylt across with enough of an impact to get parents understand the whole saga of events kids can easily do or be influenced by to not and never share or listen to adult or parental advice and concern.
Why do we allow these monsters to live? When did we make peace with evil and think “yeah, this person is a sex offender, but we shouldnt cage or execute them”? We kill a dog for biting, we kill a bear for attacking hikers in its own territory…but we dont think these types of predators who hurt children should be put down?
