As a senior network systems administrator for a college university I promise no one is hacking into my environment due to all the safe guards we have in place.. this guy is full of shit.. sure maybe other companies have lazy employees who don’t give a shit but I take my job very seriously

You guys have NO idea what the US can do with a laptop. More than most countries can do with an entire secret service.
Everyone forgets. US created nearly all large corporations/services you use. Just a few weeks ago the US caught a brand new secret service in Russia using Google to share files lol.
As an ethical hacker, I’m not scared of AI yet. I’ll feel fine until AI actually invents novel ways of hacking. Right now, its methodology is the exact same as ours. The only real difference is that AI isn’t lazy and never misses small clues in a response like humans do. But for now, I’m good.
In short poor defense in depth for brute force or port knock detection , poor credential hygiene, valid creds with no MFA aka just normal everyday SOP for anywhere.
Don’t need AI for that, AI just makes the obvious from typical shit security practices quicker to exploit at scale.
