Being a vet had nothing to do with that. They want everyone drugged out of their mind and dependent on the drugs they prescribe. Doctors get kick back from the pharmaceutical companies. I remember a time when their weren’t drug commercials on TV and on the counter at the doctor’s office. It’s ironic that they say they don’t want people to self medicate, yet they constantly shove it in your face that you need all their medications. Congratulations to this guy for getting himself off their train.

Yeah, when the doctor says you need to stay on this medication’s that’s because they’re wanting to keep getting that money out of you. I was on opiates for over six years and the dr never planned on taking me off as long as they were still getting that money. I had to wing myself off.

It’s s**t, all they want to do is keep you ‘comfortably numb’.
I’m on a lot of those. The VA put me on like 10 different pills in a span of like 2 weeks.
It was the same once I got off antidepressants. I was on them for 15 years and so numb. I am so much happier off them. I also cleaned my diet, no proceeds foods. Eat paleo. It helped.

Thank you for your service. It’s so hard to hear this all of our brothers and arms. All veterans should be treated much better than this. The government has a huge responsibility that they’ve reneged on for many years and it’s really sad. Prayers for you and all of those who have served!!
Our Veterans are used and then treated like trash. Our government has a lot to answer for.
You weren’t supposed to come off those drugs cause they were made for cancer patients who were gonna die and the pain from the withdrawal would probably give you a heart attack. No doctor would want to be a rehab doctor for that kind of danger and at least some of us were told as soon as they hit the market, how dangerous they were gonna be.

I was on most of those meds at one point or another for my pain. I was taking 2 oxycontin and 4 percocet a day. I called my pain management and asked if I could get off the oxy and got no answer that day. So, I went cold turkey off the oxy and then weened myself down to half a percocet a day. My life became so much clearer! I was no longer in a daze.
I tried to go full cold turkey, but I do still have pain. My back has deteriorated even more since then and I am sad to say that I am back up to 3 percocet a day. I can go with 2 for a couple of days, but the pain seems to add up.

I went cold turkey off Fentynal (not safe btw I now know).
I was perscribed Fentynal after falling and back surgery and was on it 17 years.
2.5 mcg every other day and oxies for breakthrough pain.
God took all withdrawl symptoms from me, AND all the pain.
