People are so money hungry, they are willing to throw the baby out with the bath water to get it; i.e., selling land to corporations and foreign country leaders. I see 4-story luxury apartments going up everywhere. That’s what these corps and foreign countries want: for us to own nothing and live in 15-minute cities. It’s great that young guys like this are realizing it and trying to change it back.
Didn’t RFK Jr. just bow down to Monsanto? They create the cancer and than sell you the cancer drugs that will put in you in financial turmoil even if you do survive!

Most people have no connection to rural lives and their plight but what they have to ask themselves is what would u do if the grocery store was closed or empty? What would u do? It’s something that rarely crosses most peoples minds. U gonna rely on FEMA? Good luck. It’s not a persons problem til it’s a problem. By then it’s too late.
When u have cooperations that have gotten so big they can control people like the hunger games then u are beyond screwed. People have to wake up and look outside their circle of knowledge and more yet their comfort zone. The more people that start to stand up and say enough is enough the easier it gets to your country back and more importantly your lively hood and dignity. Workers in any industry should not be beholden to anyone or anything if your work ethic and perseverance are at the forefront of your existence. Glad this topic has been brought up by SRS. People have to know what’s going on in their own backyard
this earth needs a turn around. goes to show. big companies are not the future. its the way to the end. no one company or person should hold so much power. it will always destroy real peoples work.
The thing is, a small amount of people and land producing all the world’s food is completely unsustainable. We were never meant to do it that way. It will self destruct at one point. The part no one seems to talk about is the gigantic amount of people age 30 to 50 who suddenly decided to become small farmers and homesteaders in the last 5 years. It’s not if but when big Ag implodes those people will be the ones providing food to the population. They will be serving their local communities instead of trying to feed the world. That’s how it was supposed to be and that’s how it will be in the future.

Hemp farming is THE avenue to get young people into farming. The hemp supply chain is DOMINATED by small family farms – $28B industry. It never got overrun by corporate interests. I started from nothing, knowing nothing, and ended up succeeding and buying a large farm. I played by the rules and made something awesome out of nothing.
An amendment slid into the bill to reopen the government last November de facto killed the entire hemp industry.
No public input, no hearings. To pay TSA workers their paychecks, Congress had to massacre thousands of American hemp farmers.
We don’t hate our government enough!

The only way to get on new land as a young person is to become a hemp farmer (that’s how I did it). Now Congress just killed the hemp industry. What’s 2,000 more crushed American farmers to our traitorous government
This is exactly the reason we shop our local farmers market each week. We get fresh, sometimes organic food, and we support a host of small farms, most of which are owned by young people. What we don’t purchase we grow in our backyard.
Of course they’re doing that on purpose. Control the software, control access the multiple control modules allows dealers to control costs of service and repairs. Limited repairs can be performed on location at the farm. Half of the machines need to be loaded on trucks with special permits, which increases cost of repairs by thousands just to transport the implement from farms to shop back to farm. Like property taxes that prevents people to actually never own their own property when the property is paid off; the farmer doesn’t really own their late model farm equipment. This shit must stop now. Lobbyist must be eliminated!

This is why it’s so important to support your local farmers. It’s going to cost a few more dollars sure! If we don’t support our small farmers the urban sprawl will continue to develop all of our rural communities
Instead of complaining or suing John Deere, just stop buying from John Deere.

i’m glad that shawn is talking about this. i’m a 5th generation farmer and rancher and i don’t think the operation will finish with the 6th that already been in the business for 4 years. he can’t begin to pay off his cousins for their shares of the family business so he has to find a job working for who buys it when me and my two brothers die. it’s sad but no one sees another way other than for the land to sell and everyone takes their share and call it quits. chyna has bought several farms in our area and pay five times what the land can pay back yet they continue to buy. our government is stabbing our nation in its back by allowing enemies to buy up land but they don’t care because they are being bought off in one way or the other and as long as they are rich they could care less about our country. we are one of the biggest family operations in the county and we still can’t see a way to continue. we’ve done better in the past five years than anyone in our heritage yet with record beef profits there’s no way for the only male great great great grandson to buy his cousins out. things are really screwed up. the dollar continues to weaken so it’s taking more dollars to buy the same thing as they used to. i hope I am doing the right thing but i am buying gold bars with the money he pays me so i have something to will my kids and grandkids. if i left them cash it would be worthless down the road so hopefully i am doing what is wise. if i had not lived within my means and hadn’t been debt free when i was 65 i would be having to use the money to live and not have anything to leave the kids. side note, my kids are public school educated and university educated in Shawns town and are so clueless due to Belmont university that i should probably go to vegas and gamble with White until it’s gone because they aren’t smart enough to keep from squandering it away. talk about a gigantic waste of money, sending them to Belmont was a huge mistake. the school should be named group think university because they turned out to be the opposite of how they were raised

I’m a 29 yo farmer my family has been working the land I farm for 5 generations before me. This man is right about ag. I just want to be able to give it to my kids I’ve tried to buy land I have to sell it because I can’t make money on it the payments are 4x more than what the land makes.
Missourian here. 31 years old and have been wanting to do small scale farming for 5 years. But land prices/equipment makes the dream incredibly elusive.
How about make it where a few bad crops you don’t loose your family century farm ! You have to sell land to keep living and then you have no land. My grandfather was with Washington on the Delaware. He was given 1800 acres for service. Over 200 years of farming, now there’s no farming at all! Farm aid and all the scams to help farmers have went nowhere! This country has outsourced everything or for the greater green good. Kill cows and don’t eat animals,stop the traditional way of farming.
In some states a trend that is happening is increasing the amount of land required to qualify for the agricultural tax rates. Example: Just a decade ago it may have been 10 acres you would buy to start adjacent to other land you would hope to buy to now it has moved to 50 acres minimum which no younger person has a prayer of buying and it is on purpose. Even those who have attained some wealth with the real estate market can no longer afford it.
