Can robots ever be hacked to do bad things?
Very dangerous having robots in our lives.
They’re already taking humanoid robots and programming them to use small arms, very effectively in fact. They’re even programmed to see and identify if someone is holding a weapon so they can discern a legitimate threat exists before they engage that threat. My understanding is that hand to hand combat skills are next. Wild stuff!!

This is terrifying, I don’t think I want to live in the future where this is mainstream. I just keep thinking of Terminator or Matrix and think humans will be wiped out.

I think there’s one bad reality to all this, but I think a lot of games and movies have captured this but basically these things become self-conscious aware and then they start rebottling against humans and then all of a sudden they’re killing an attacking people because they no longer want to be servants, what is the protocol for that?
Fortunately a paint ball gun can disable their ability to “see” and biped robots are still not very coordinated.

They will provide consumer personal protection robots that at first will be unarmed force multipliers. As acceptance grows we will see a shift to less than lethal armed protection and eventually as they are proven in military roles we will see fully armed police patrols.

They can only do what they are programmed to do or react to something according to what they are programmed to do. They will never have the human emotion and discernment needed by a teacher in the classroom to help kids. My wife is a teacher and she has had to deal with some pretty bad things that happen to kids
