One thing that was not mentioned regrding WWI, was the massive world-wide financial crisis. The Bank of London was literrally closed for 5-months… some say that WWII was just a continuation of WWI because they had not recovered.
This guy was completely exposed by Victor Davis Hanson after he was on Tucker’s podcast last year. Tucker called Darryl America’s greatest living historian. Ridiculous. Darryl Cooper tried to sell the idea that the true villain of WW2 was Winston Churchill….not Hitler. Not Stalin. Winston Churchill. VDH exposed him thoroughly. I love Tucker, but when he’s wrong, he’s seriously wrong.
We assume that if we were subject to the same pressure and experiences we would somehow come out the other end smelling like roses. My mother taught me from a very young age to walk in their shoes before judging them. I remember how profound that was to me at the age of 5.

Darryl’s Martyrmade is the only podcast that comes close or sometimes exceeds the quality, and empathy of Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History for me. There’s not many people that can put you in the shoes of either side of a conflict, and leave you torn on who’s the good guy, because there really isn’t one. Been listening since 2018, his entire catalogue is worth listening to including the substack.
