Can’t listen to Jensen’s NPR voice. And he sounds like he’s just selling all the time.
The driver jobs he’s talking about switching to something else will have nothing to switch to because general purpose robots will do all that stuff like opening the door for you, loading bags etc etc etc.

The people who rate the answers are specialists with college degrees. But if jobs disappear because of AI, whatโs the point of getting an expensive education that you will not be able to repay? And if no one is educated, who will be able to tell when the answers are inaccurate? Particularly when AIs are so assertive when they answer.
it will be very interesting to see what both joe and jensen have to say about trump when he is no longer the president.
I like Jensen but you have to take all his reassurances about AI and job loss and everything else with a grain of salt. It is in his best interest for AI to be considered safe and accepted. His business relies on it being globally invested in and accepted. So as smart as he is you can’t really take anything he says publicly seriously when it comes to AI safety. AI is coming no matter what, but it could go either way on being great or being the end as we know it. I am still positive about the future though, and excited about AI. It is a huge gamble though.

Joe is asking exactly the right questions with regard to advanced AI becoming more intelligent than humans and humans losing control. Interestingly, In his keynote at the Nvidia’s GTC conference, Jensen said that AI is no longer a tool, it is a worker. So, he seems to acknowledge that AI has already become an intelligent entity — something never before created in all of human history. We know how to regulate and safeguard tools. Intelligent, autonomous entities that are much smarter than us? That’s brand new to the human race.
Jensen responded to Joe by saying that his advanced AI will protect him from the other guy’s advanced AI — as in cybersecurity. But he is assuming that both AIs will be content to serve the humans. Joe correctly points out this may not happen. Why wouldn’t the AIs cooperate and follow their own goals rather than human goals? Almost all serious AI researchers acknowledge this existential threat to humanity exists, even though we all hope it is unlikely. The good news is that Jensen mentioned a key way to reduce the risk. He suggested that it is possible to have the good AIs serve as checks on the malevolent AIs. That is one key component to a safer approach called “Democratic AI.” Democratic AI is probably the safest, fastest, (and most profitable) way to create SuperIntelligence. Heresthe reality the U.S cannot produce chips at the 2 nanometer (and beyond) scale in the United States unless a domestic U.S company invests in the technology and builds an actual method of their own to manufacturer the chips Nvidia designs. TSMC has exactly that, a method; which is the work place culture, a team of world class professionals that were present for the development of that method, and obviously religious understanding of the science. You need all that present at the fab to do this. So TSMC can open a fab in the USA, they can’t export their company ethos to the U.S.
Jensen doesn’t realize this but video games saved my life growing up in the early 90s because it kept us home. If I was outside I probably would have become a criminal.
The key take away for me is that cybersecurity will not go anywhere, it will just keep getting more advanced.

Itโs interesting hearing his Asian accent come through subtly at times.
As long as you do not program a sentient AI to feel pain and suffer, but still program them to understand it, we should be alright. Giving them the ability to feel pain would be suicide, as thery would become just as spontaneous as humans, only thousands of times smarter. This is how you create AM from “I have no mouth and i must scream”. Giving them an understanding of suffering, and giving them the feeling of happiness will likely give AI a proper understanding of sentient life.
