Nothing changed, even in Iraq on Anaconda .. Air Force had everything from Green Beans, sidewalks around their hoches.. plus Air Force had a 4 month deployment.
A Marine told me once that the Air Force had 264 kinds of specialists, from mechanics to pilots, he then informed me that the Marine Corps has only two, Breaking things and hurting people.
My dad was a stateside bluebird. Motor pool. Met him twice.
The uncles that we’re around in my childhood, that came back, were all Jarheads and ground pounders. One door gunner.
Prior gen, all Army, Navy(USMC).
They didn’t hold it against me. 😏
The real badazz operators stay in the dark & you don’t hear about them. The pansies get prizes & medals on live t.v. 😂

Work smarter not harder. Why send 100 marines to kill 1 person on the battlefield, when you can send one plane and just destroy the whole battlefield.
They’re not live , I was in the air force , and we went t d y to naval base , and i’m gonna enlisted man , and they put us in there , officers , bill it , and it was worse than our basic housing for enlisted. 2 on base theaters college size rec center with football fields baseball diamonds whenever I got transfer to Navy or Army bases it was like ghetto

Post Vietnam enlistment in the Air Force. But I had a heck of a TDY once. it was rough. I don’t really know how to survived it. I had to spend two whole weeks in Las Vegas. And they made me have a roommate for crying out loud.
The Marines had the best club on Da Nang. Stage, Sunken Dance Floor, Full Bar, Sound System to kill for. Their barracks and latrines were straight out of the Indo China French war. May have lived ghetto but sure knew how to party.
Bro still took one for the team, respect. 🫡

Can confirm. Didn’t go to the VA for almost 20 years. First group, I was instantly given crap for being AF. Chair Force: half the numbers, twice the funding.

Reminds me of the time in the Hanoi Hilton the POWs, all pilots except for one man, were comparing heights and speeds when they were shot down. Figures like 20,000 feet, 300 knots, that sort of thing. Finally the Navy guy stated he’d been something like 50 feet and 25 knots…he’d fallen off a ship and had swum to shore.

The Marines are the red headed step child of the Navy. Marine reservist told me they had to bring their own TP to the base! The Air Force spends all its money on O clubs, golf courses, swimming pools, offices; then goes to Congress and says we ran out of money, we need more for the runways! 😅
If your mom keeps badgering you so much your willing to go into an active hot warzone where you eventually get wounded, you have deserved that medal considering she will be waiting back home😂
