He is the former obama under secretary of something or other but has written an excellent book about why the science of climate is not settled.

Germany has a history of taking bad ideas to destructive extremes. It is not surprising to me that they are leading the charge into Climate Alarmism and over-reliance on intermittent wind and solar for electricity. Once again, they provide us with a warning of the danger of taking bad ideas to their logical endings, but only if we pay attention and take heed.
Stupidity is a profound problem in any society. In the 1950s, Adlai Stevenson twice ran against Dwight Eisenhower for president. During one of his campaigns, the polls showed Eisenhower with a commanding lead, and the campaign leadership was demoralized and resigned to losing. A young aide to Stevenson piped up and said that he thought they were sure to win. Stevenson asked him why he thought so.
