The Dyson Sphere is highly unlikely. The size of the average star, even a red dwarf is such a size that getting enough materials and having the energy source to constantly be in space to built such a thing, there’s just not enough in a solar system. You’d have to have readily available access and the ability to traverse from star to star, planet to planet in order to get enough material to build around said star that at that point, it’s laughable any advanced species would need more energy since they’re capable of traveling that far with their energy source, the man power to gather the materials, ship them and then build it. It’s most likely just an imagination. But, it’s not impossible, just not probable
fermi paradox. Why can’t we find advanced life. It’s possible the fliter for advanced life is on even more complex gradient. They found we live in a sorta void thanks to a barrier of micro blackholes. Along with phosphate being required for life but not as abundant and the type of intelligence we have is sorta rare. Even animals with similar capabilities are stuck in false vacuums from evolutions perspective or aren’t built for complex tool use that are needed in building tech.
So it’s possible we’re the first, we are too far from any aliens with similar tech, we’re in the wrong time and only see the playback thanks to how space-time works, or going out to space is harder then going through time/getting small/turning everything digital.

What a lot of nonsense. We are almost indistinguishable from the galactic noise and background right now. And we have virtually zero likelihood of harnessing the sun’s energy directly within the next 200 years such that it would be detectable. Solar is passive and even if we pumped out panels for the next 200 years and sent them into orbit to harness the sun’s power it wouldn’t make a perceptible difference to our detection profile. Sadly we also haven’t even escaped the potential of nuclear extinction. Everything he said was nonsense.
All of our radio waves we have sent out are likely too weak to pick up past 100 light years, which means around 10,000 star systems are within hearing distance of us *potentially.* Radio waves may keep traveling but they only get weaker and weaker over the distance

There’s not “hundreds of millions” of stars in the milky way, there’s 100-400 billion stars. Everyone says this kid is a genius but every time he does numbers (or says “I ran the numbers”) he is wrong by an enormous amount.

Is like people don’t understand that the distance between systems is so vast the makes time between them impossible for beings. Even when you travel at the speed of light (the highest speed possible) it’ll take millions of years. Even if scientists miraculously find remnants of civilization somewhere, that would still be millions of years in the past.
Stars have seasons, too…. Our seasons are powered by the sun.
They do naturally dim and brighten, depending on their period in their solar cycles. The Sun has a particular solar cycle that appears to take about 14 years, but this persists within other cyclical processes that can take hundreds of thousands of years.

No this is just really untrue, he’s talking about the Fermi paradox, which is not proven to be true. anomaly level statistics are required in so many ways to get a planet that can have life like humans on it. Distance from the sun, size of the sun, size of the planet, are other planets gonna shield the inhabited planet? That’s just a few, there’s so many things that need to be perfect and those being perfect are less than a percent each in terms of the scale of space.

What a lot of these theories don’t seem to get is the sheer vastness of time. The chance that extraterrestrial life, intelligent or not, developed is quite high. However, in the vast near-infinite lifespan of the Universe, it is infinitesimally small. We are currently at the very beginning of a potentially 200 trillion year era of cosmic abundance in the Stelliferous age (the age where stars are born), at the very cosmic dawn. If there is intelligent extraterrestrial life out there, odds are our civilizations will never intersect. We will be cosmic dust, long forgotten, perhaps for billions of years before their oldest ancestors even evolve from the primordial soup. Humbling to think about.
