Wow, everybody, take a breath. I’m continually shocked at the level of Israel hatred and Anti-semitism that is on the right. I mean I knew it was on the left and I knew there were some fringe right with anti-Israel sentiment. But, it’s really coming out on all sides.
While yes, the United States and ancient Roman Empire find similarities with one another, I believe what Netanyahu was referring to was more likely the genocidal and displacement policies of ancient Rome like at Masada etcetera that modern countries have also shown towards them such as the Islamic republic government towards Israel. Meaning you will not throw us out of our country this time. It’s important to study history and understand that they were thrown out of their Homeland after the second temple destruction and at that time it was changed from being called Judea to Palestine by the Roman Empire to further separate and throw out the Jewish people from their ancient Homeland.
Anyways, I do believe they are truly our allies, but as with any other Ally that we have we always have to make sure we are looking out for ourselves as a nation and make sure that anything we do truly aligns with our interests. Personally, I believe this action right now does align with our interests in the long run.
